Two Day Shrine making Course

10 am – 3 pm with free studio time after 3 pm for independent working.

Day one:

We will design and construct with firm slabs of clay a small (roughly A4 size) shrine either wall hung or freestanding. You will be taught how to make alcoves and secure slab joints, mitigate the risk of cracking and embellish your special shrine with texture and decorative detail ready to add colour on day two.

Day two:

Your work will dry overnight and on day two you will have the opportunity to choose from a huge variety of coloured slips and oxides to create a vibrant surface and then raw glaze (if appropriate) your work with optional glazes ready to be fired and collected a couple of weeks later.
Bring a packed lunch each day or eat out in Corsham and a HAIRDRYER to dry your clay.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

We have our own cafe and brewery/tap room onsite run by my daughter and my partner so you can order all manner of wonderful coffees and cakes or even a cheeky tipple during your studio time and it will be delivered to your work station. 🤗

There are various pubs, bnb’s and hotels in and around Corsham, Wiltshire that have great accommodation and the small town itself has a brilliant array of lovely independent pubs and restaurants to choose from! Google it and see and please don’t hesitate to ask me anything you are not sure about.
