Colbalt Carbonate

1 – 3% will achieve a blue in a glaze.
This oxide will produce a slightly softer blue than cobalt Oxide and is great to combine with other oxides, particularly copper and rutile.

Please see how it reacts with other oxides in the photos.  Experiment with combining it with other oxides and see what happens.

All photographs show the oxide used in combination with JSC earthenware transparent glaze fired to 1140ºC. The results will vary depending on what glaze you use.
